What we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
When you enquire or book, we collect what you share with us — typically your name, phone number, email and booking details — through our website form, WhatsApp, email or social media. When you book a trip we also collect the details on your signed waiver — your identity document or passport number, your emergency contact, and any medical condition, allergy or medication you choose to declare. We collect this so we can get you across a border and look after you if something goes wrong on the road.
To manage your booking, respond to you, and send trip or event updates. We only send marketing messages if you have asked to receive them, and you can opt out at any time.
We share your details only with the suppliers needed to deliver your booking (for example a lodge or transporter) and never sell them. Ticketing platforms such as TicketNest handle their own customer data under their own policies. Where a trip crosses a border, we share the passenger details we need to with immigration, customs and transport operators. In a medical emergency we may share the health information you declared on your waiver with medical staff treating you, and contact the emergency contact you gave us.
As part of running our trips and events, we may photograph and film participants. Every traveller signs a trip waiver before departure which includes consent to this, and the same consent is set out in section 12 of our terms and conditions. These images may be used for marketing and promotional purposes across our website, social media and other channels, and may be kept in our archive for future use. If you would prefer not to appear, please tell our team before or during the trip and we will do our best to accommodate this. We take reasonable steps to keep your information secure and keep it only as long as needed for bookings, our records and legal requirements.
